I’ll start by saying the quality of the leather and the hardware is top-notch. This collar is clearly handcrafted and built to last. The problem is the fit for my Mastiff mix. He has a thick neck, yes, but the 8 cm width combined with the spikes means when he turns his head sharply, the inner points dig into his skin. He started getting small bald patches, so I had to stop using it. If the inside had a smooth lining or if the spikes were only on the outer layer without poking through, it would be perfect. As it is, it’s more of a short-wear show collar than a daily collar for a dog that wrestles or rolls around a lot. I’ll keep it for walks around the block, but I can’t leave it on him all day. Disappointed because it’s beautifully made.

My Cane Corso manages to destroy most collars within a couple of months, but this one finally feels like it will last. The buffalo leather is insanely thick—it holds its shape without being rock hard. The spikes are securely fastened, not just glued on, and they sit flush against the leather so they won’t catch on random things. It looks intimidating without being tacky costume gear. The width spreads pressure evenly when he pulls, and I’ve noticed less coughing compared to his old 2-inch collar. Only minor thing: it took a few days of wear for the leather to soften and mould to his neck, which is totally normal for real leather. Smells like quality, too. If you have a strong, bullish breed, this is what you want.

Ordered this for my American Bully from Luxury Dog Collar. The packaging was nice, it came wrapped in a cloth bag inside the box, but delivery took almost two weeks longer than their estimate. As for the collar itself, the craftsmanship is obvious. The leather edge isn’t raw—it’s properly burnished, and the stitching looks like it could hold a truck. The spikes aren’t excessive, more like dulled pyramid studs, so they don’t hurt my hand when I grab it. The massive D-ring is welded solid, not that flimsy cast stuff. I’m giving 4 stars because the buckle, while heavy-duty, has a slight squeak that drives me nuts when the dog shakes. I’ll probably rub a little wax on it. Overall, worth the wait but don’t expect fast shipping.
