The buffalo leather is thick and substantial without being stiff; it softened up after a few days of wear. The gold brass lion plate is heavy and the details are sharp, not that hollow tinny stuff you sometimes see. I had my pup’s name engraved and it’s deep and crisp, not some laser-etched surface mark. My Labrador is 80 lbs and pulls like a tractor, but the collar doesn’t stretch or crease. The only tiny quirk is the buckle is quite massive — it takes a second longer to secure when he’s wiggling — but once it’s on, it’s not going anywhere. I get compliments on walks constantly. Definitely feels like a lifetime piece. Worth the price.
