This collar definitely makes a statement. I have a big German Shepherd with a thick neck, and the 5cm width gives him a real tough-guy silhouette without looking like a cartoon. The leather smells great and the wolf emblem is subtle but detailed. The ivory spikes are well-anchored — not sharp enough to poke anyone, which I appreciated. The only reason I’m knocking off a star is the break-in period. Out of the box it was as stiff as a plank, and my dog kept trying to scratch it off for the first few days. After conditioning the leather and letting him wear it around the house, it softened up, but it took a solid week. Also, if your dog has shorter fur, be aware the spikes can rub a little if it’s not positioned perfectly. The buckle is robust and hasn’t shown any sign of rust. Overall, once it’s broken in, it’s a beautiful, sturdy collar that gets plenty of compliments.

I’ll start by saying the craftsmanship is excellent. The leather is genuine and thick, the wolf logo is pressed deep, and the cream-colored spikes are perfectly fixed. I bought this for my boxer mix, and visually it’s stunning — looks like something out of a fantasy set. However, after a few tries, I realized it’s just not practical for our everyday use. The 5cm width is massive and even on my dog’s stocky build it rubbed behind his ears and made him uncomfortable. The spikes, while not dangerously sharp, kept snagging on his harness and on blankets when he laid down. It’s also heavy; he seemed to tire quicker wearing it on longer walks. I’m keeping it for photoshoots and special occasions because it photographs incredibly, but for daily walks or play, I’ve had to switch back to a narrower plain collar. If you have a giant breed and don’t use a harness, maybe it’d work better.
