Out of the box, the brown buffalo leather felt thick and substantial – it’s a true 4cm wide, so it sits perfectly on my 90lb dog without cutting in. The gold spikes are polished solidly and every single one is screwed in, not just glued on like cheaper collars I’ve tried. He pulls like a freight train on walks, and after a few weeks there’s zero loose hardware or stretched holes. The inner padding surprised me; it’s soft enough that he wears it all day without any rub marks on his short coat. Only tiny note: the leather is quite stiff at first so it needed a couple of days to mold to his neck, but honestly that just tells me it’s real, durable hide. It looks ridiculously handsome on him, almost like a piece of armour. Worth every cent.
